Henrik herceg szellemi hanyatlással küzd

A királyi udvar bejelentette, hogy Margit dán királynő férje demenciában szenved.

A spokesperson for the Danish Royal Family has declared that HRH Prince Henrik has chosen not to be buried next to his wife Her Majesty Queen Margrethe in Roskilde Cathedral after his death. It was planned that the two should be buried together under a sarcophagus the Royal couple has been involved with designing since 2003 by artist Bjoern Noergaard. It is tradition that Danish Kings and Queens and their spouses are buried in the cathedral side by side the only exceptions being Christian VII whose wife Caroline Mathilde was banished from courts for her involvement with Court Doctor Struensee and Frederik VII whose wife Countess Danner was not royalty. The Prince states his disillusionment with his role in the Royal Family and the fact that he could not be named "King" or "King Consort" as the reasons why he will not be buried next to his wife. Danish media has since the information became known called his decision bitter, spoiled and selfish and a stain on his legacy refusing to honor his place and his life companion for selfish reasons. Where he will be buried is yet unknown but the spokesperson says he will be buried in Denmark and not in his family burial place in France. Whether the sarcophagus costing 29 million Danish Kroner made from glass, Greenlandic marble, Faroese Basalt and granite from Bronholm showing the silhouettes of the Queen and Prince is finish and will need to be remade has not been confirmed. A palota közleménye szerint a 83 éves Henrik herceget a koppenhágai egyetemi kórházban vizsgálták ki. Az orvosai által felállított diagnózis szerint „kognitív képességzavara kiterjedtebb”, mint várták, és ez a viselkedésében, a reakcióiban, ítéletalkotásában, valamint érzelmeiben is változásokhoz vezet.

A francia származású Henrik augusztusban azzal a kijelentésével okozott meglepetést, hogy nem akarja, hogy a királynő mellé temessék el egy különlegesen tervezett szarkofágba. A 77 éves Margit királynő közölte, hogy elfogadja férje döntését, de hozzátette, hogy ez nem változtat a temetéssel kapcsolatos rendelkezésein. Henrik elmondta: azt szeretné, ha Dániában helyeznék örök nyugalomra, azt azonban nem részletezte, hogy hol.

A herceg, aki tavaly vonult vissza a nyilvánosságtól, hosszú ideig nehezményezte, hogy felesége 1972-es trónra lépése után nem emelkedett vele egyenlő rangra. A dán alkotmány 19 évvel korábban tette lehetővé a női ágon történő trónöröklést.

A palota azt is közölte, hogy a demencia megállapítása után a herceg tevékenységei a jövőben tovább csökkennek.
